FAPESP launches a call for proposals together with Ohio State University (OSU) to promote scientific collaborations between researchers from the state of São Paulo and the American university. This call is part of the scientific cooperation agreement between the institutions.

Projects should be developed jointly by a lead researcher from the state of São Paulo and another from Ohio State University with a focus on areas aligned with FAPESP’s strategic research priorities for the 2026-28 period: Biotechnology; Energy transition; Biodiversity, sustainable production and food security; Digital transition and artificial intelligence; Quantum science and technologies; Human and animal health; and Violence and public security.

FAPESP and the OSU will fund jointly up to USD 20,000 per project with a duration of two years. Projects will receive funding in the seedcorn funding category, which aims to promote partnerships through short-term collaboration mechanisms – including expenses for mobility, modest direct research costs, and the organization of workshops. A total of five projects will be selected.

At FAPESP, projects will be classified according to the rules and conditions of the Regular Research Grant modality. The call is open to researchers with an employment link to an Institution of Higher Education and Research in the state of São Paulo.

Researchers selected for funding under the 2025 Call are not eligible to apply to the 2026 Call.

Proposals must be written in English and submitted via SAGe by September 22.

The call is available at https://fapesp.br/18277.
